The UK Gambling Commission
The UK Gambling Commission is the regulatory body on gambling in Great Britain. Over the years, the UKGC has developed a strong reputation as one of the most trustworthy and player-friendly gambling regulators in the world. Despite the name, the UK Gambling Commission’s purview does not cover the entire UK. Northern Ireland has its own gambling governing body.
The establishment of UKGC was proposed by the Gambling Act of 2005. However, it would be two years later, in 2007, that the UKGC came into being with full powers. The gambling authority not only regulates the online gambling industry in Great Britain but also several aspects of the physical casinos operating within its borders.
